Our Team

  • Raoul Rossiter

Raoul has been studying and practicing Pilates since 1996, and teaching since 2001, when he became a certified instructor of Contrology through the Michael Miller Studio; and again in 2006 through PIOB’s exhaustive classical curriculum. In 2010 he began apprenticing in PIOB’s Teacher Training program, and has since helped guide the education of many of its graduates.

He is a lifelong skier, ski instructor, ultra distance trail runner, and rock climber with a foundational background in gymnastics. He is also a busy professional musician on drums and percussion with a penchant for Brazilian music.

After decades of weight training, yoga, Feldenkrais, and other cross-training systems, he became aware of Pilates. After one curiously difficult Reformer workout he looked no further. He has since made it a priority to study with the first generation of teachers who worked with Joseph (and Clara) Pilates personally. These great individuals include, Jay Grimes, Ron Fletcher, Kathy Grant, Mary Bowen, Lolita San Miguel, and a long list of second generation teachers whose objective has been to carry on the lineage of the original work.

Whether coming off an injury, healing a chronic pain, or training for a marathon, Raoul is committed to helping his clients become strong, resilient, and capable managers of their own health and fitness; and to be able to embrace the everyday activities, adventures, and curve balls life has to offer, at any age or physical stage, with confidence and elan.
